Junior high volleyball: FMS ends season 1-2 at Warrenton tourney

WARRENTON - The Lady Hornets prevailed in one of their three matches at the season-ending Black Hawk Middle School Tournament on Saturday.

FMS opened with losses to Troy South 25-12 and 25-15, and to Wright City 25-16 and 25-23. The Lady Hornets, though, rebounded for a 25-19 and 25-18 victory over Intensity to finish the season with a 3-8 record.

Eighth-grade outside hitter Mackenzie Wilson combined for six aces and six kills for FMS, while eighth-grade middle hitter KeAsia Galbreath recorded six kills.

Seventh-grade setter Emily Elias chipped in with eight aces, 11 assists and four digs for the Lady Hornets. Eighth-grade outside hitter Mariah Reed tallied two kills and eight digs, while seventh-grade middle hitter Brooklyn Johnson contributed two kills.
