High school boys' basketball: Tipton 77, New Bloomfield 40

TIPTON - The sixth-seeded Wildcats were clobbered by the No. 3 Cardinals in the first round of the Tipton Tournament late Tuesday night.

New Bloomfield (0-3) fell behind 24-6 after one quarter and trailed 54-23 at halftime. Tipton owned a 71-36 lead to start the fourth quarter.

Sophomore guard Trevor Jordan led the Wildcats with 10 points and junior guard Keaton Herron was next with nine.

New Bloomfield will play No. 7 seed Russellville - a fellow Show-Me Conference member - in the consolation semifinals at 9 tonight. Russellville bowed to No. 2 seed Jamestown 69-56 in first-round play Tuesday night.
