Owl women finish ninth at Drury

After sitting in a tie for 11th after Monday, William Woods women's golf moved up to ninth among 17 teams Tuesday for the final round of the two-day Lady Panther Invite hosted by Drury University.

The Owls shot a 662 through two rounds, besting every NAIA school, and the winner was NCAA Division II Christian Brothers University with a 629. Maria Zrodowska led William Woods with a fourth-place finish after shooting 155 through two days.

Zrodowska shot a lower 76 on day one with the help of a birdie but shot a 79 on Tuesday after having 11 pars and seven bogeys.

Paige Hawkins was the next-highest William Woods finisher in a four-way tie for 26th after shooting a 164 through two rounds. Krystal Burgtorf was the final Owl in the top 50 after shooting a 167 to tie for 46th.

The William Woods women will compete Monday and Tuesday along with the Owl men at the Missouri Valley Fall Invitational in Marshall.
