William Woods was down early and couldn't get back up as Hastings defeated the Owls 3-0 on Saturday.

Hastings scored in the 12th minute of the game while its goalkeeper only had to make two saves all game.

The Owls' scoring opportunities came during the 38th minute with them down 1-0. Abby Prather Turner took a penalty kick but didn't put it in the back of the net. Moments later, Wilson Hornsby had a shot on goal that was turned away.

William Woods (3-2-1) stayed quiet during the second half, taking no shots while Hastings added two goals in the 66th and 79th minute.

Goalkeeper Belle Boschert made eight saves on the 11 chances Hastings had along with its 21 shots. The Owls had four.

William Woods plays a road game at 5 p.m. Tuesday at University of Saint Mary.
