Women's Soccer: Westminster opens season with 2OT loss

In the first game of the season Saturday, Westminster women's soccer was outshot 11-6 by Milikin in regulation but were able to push it to overtime, losing 1-0 in the second overtime period.

The Blue Jays (0-1) and goalkeeper Megan Davidson had to deal with seven shots on goal through the 102 minutes played while Milikin's keeper, Hope Limigoes, had four saves.

Westminster only challenged Limoges once in the first half and its other three chances in the second half. Annalise Beck had two of the Blue Jay shots on goal.

Bailee Blecker, of Milikin, led all players with three shots on goal. Her second one was stopped by Davidson in the fist overtime period, but the third one found the back of the net in the second overtime to end the game.

Westminster is set to play its first home game at noon Saturday against Elmhurst.
