Gibbs earns AMC baseball award

William Woods sophomore Isaiah Gibbs won some gold for his work with the leather this season as he was awarded a  spot on the American Midwest Conference's Gold Glove Team.

Gibbs was the Owls' lone representative of the 10 fielders who were recognized - one at each position except two for pitchers - for his work in right field.

At the plate, Gibbs played an important role leading the team in batting average (.392) and slugging percentage (.682), but he also was among the best on the team and the NAIA in the field, leading both with a perfect fielding percentage.

Gibbs didn't make a single error this season and all of the shortened season last year. The last time he made an error was April 11, 2019, against Central Baptist.

Gibbs now has a conference Gold Glove to go along with his all-conference selection he earned in early May.

Gibbs was  selected to the first team.
