College volleyball: Westminster 3, Spalding (Ky.) 2

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Lady Blue Jays remained unbeaten by rallying for a 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25-22 and 15-11 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Lady Golden Eagles on Friday night.

Westminster College improved to 4-0 both on the season and in the SLIAC. Spalding University slipped to the .500 mark at 2-2 both overall and in conference play.

Sophomore outside hitter Haley Menke piled up a match-high 23 kills and also recorded 13 digs to guide the Lady Blue Jays. Senior middle blocker Natalie Needy posted 16 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Eryka Wanyonyi finished with 14 kills and 15 digs.

Junior libero Erica Schrader topped Westminster with a match-high 25 digs and senior setter Gretchen Durbala also logged a double-double with 50 assists and 12 digs. Senior outside hitter Allie Kennebeck contributed 11 digs.

The Lady Blue Jays return home for a SLIAC match against Iowa Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. next Wednesday.
