Women's Soccer: Westminster blanks Spalding to cap regular season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Westminister Blue Jays won their final game of the 2021 regular season Saturday, beating Spalding 2-0 behind two goals from senior forward Natalie Schulte.

Westminister improved to 7-3, 6-3 SLIAC, while Spalding dropped to 4-4, 4-3 SLIAC.

Schulte opened the scoring in the 18th minute with an unassisted goal.

She struck again after halftime, her ninth goal of the season, on an assist from Rachel Nolte in the 60th minute. Schulte's nine goals is tied for the SLIAC lead with Fontbonne's Molly Kovarik.

Goalkeeper Megan Davidson made two saves in the win.

Westminister finishes the regular in second place in SLIAC standings, ahead of Webster. The Blue Jays will begin SLIAC tournament play on Monday, hosting No. 7 seed Eureka.
