Men's golf: Logan Smith wins individual golf title for William Woods

QUINCY, Ill. - William Woods junior Logan Smith won his fourth tournament of the season Tuesday, placing first in the Quincy Invitational at Quincy Country Club.

Smith shot a 3-over 73 in Tuesday's second round, finishing the two-day event with a 5-over 145. He finished one stroke ahead of Missouri Valley's Felipe Gomez and Pablo Hernandez.

William Woods also won the team title with a 603, one stroke ahead of Missouri Valley. Central Methodist was third with a 614.

Other top-10 finishers for the Owls were Jakub Dymecki, who tied for fourth with a 9-over 149, and Max Faure, who tied for sixth with a 151. Dymecki shot a 76 on Tuesday, while Faure carded a 74.

Pheemawat Winomrat placed 15th out of 39 individuals with a 158, shooting a 78 in his second round.

Also competing for the Owls were Aaron Patel, who tied for 21st with a 162, and Grant Mach, who placed 33rd with a 170. Patel posted an 81 on Tuesday and Mach shot an 85.

The Owls are off until May 3, when they begin play in the American Midwest Conference Championships at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau.
