Women's Golf: William Woods second after Day 1 at Quincy Invite

QUINCY, Ill. - The William Woods University women's golf team is second after the opening day of the Quincy Invitational.

William Woods shot a 329 to trail leader Southern Indiana by nine strokes.

Maria Zrodowska of William Woods tops the individual standings after shooting a 73 on Monday.

Krystal Burgtorf of the Owls is fourth with a 79, while Paige Hawkins is tied for seventh with an 85 and Jennah Schell is tied for 20th with a 92. Playing as an individual, Maddison Fenner of William Woods is 40th after a 106.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude today.

Earlier Monday, Zrodowska was named the American Midwest Conference golfer of the week after she won the Central Methodist Invitational. It's the third consecutive week Zrodowska has won the award.
