Harris leads Westminster track and field at Lincoln Open

JEFFERSON CITY - Westminster's Rothman Harris posted the Blue Jays' only top-three finish Sunday during the Lincoln Open, which was held at both Lincoln University and Jefferson City High School.

Harris took third in the men's javelin, posting a throw of 125 feet, 9 inches.

No team scores were recorded at the six-school meet.

JJ Geier, DeAndre White and Geoffrey Giles all posted a pair of top-eight finishes in throwing event for the Westminster men.

In the shot put, Geier was fifth with a throw of 39-2.25, followed by White in sixth with a throw of 38-7.75. Giles finished eighth with a distance of 33-8.5.

In the discus, White led the Blue Jays with a fifth-place throw of 115-2.75, followed by Geier in sixth at 108-4.5 and Giles in seventh at 106-1.75.

Haleigh St. Clair had a pair of eighth-place finishes for the Westminster women. She posted a throw of 96-11 in the javelin and a throw of 93-8 in the discus.

Jacob Marshall placed fourth in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:21.27, while Ben Wallace took sixth in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 12.12 seconds.

For the Westminster women, Gracie Hamrick took fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.67 seconds and Katy Allen finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 33-4.5.
