Women's cross country: William Woods 24th at NAIA national championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The William Woods Owls finished 24th out of 35 teams Friday in the NAIA cross country championships at Seminole Valley Cross Country Course.

Ellie Dimond led the way for William Woods, placing 48th out of 326 runners with a time of 18:43.43.

The top 40 runners earned All-American status.

Harley Nale ran the 5K course in 19:30.65 to finish 138th, Alicia Engelbrecht placed 144th overall in 19:33.44, Faith Gerling crossed the line in 210th with a time of 20:11.10 and Kimi Putnam finished 280th in 21:19.67.

Rounding out the Owls were Mary Grover in 281st (21:20.91) and Elizabeth Luebbert in 307th (22:12.50).

St. Francis (Ill.) won the team title with 111 points.
