College volleyball: Columbia College beats William Woods in AMC semifinals

After falling in the opening set, the Columbia College Cougars downed the William Woods Owls in the next three to advance to the American Midwest Conference Tournament championship match.

The No. 2 seed Owls took the first set 25-21 before the No. 3 seeded Cougars won 25-20, 25-17, 25-17 at Anderson Arena.

Columbia College will take on Missouri Baptist on Saturday in St. Louis.

Baylie Petry finished with a team-high 15 kills for the Owls, including one to cap off a 5-1 spurt in the first set to push their lead to 21-15.

Lanie Lowry finished off the first set with one of her 13 kills.

Tori Rosemann had a match-high 20 digs, Ally Konarzewski tallied 11 digs and Emily Greif finished with 10.

Tess Schannuth assisted in 46 of William Woods' 53 kills.
