MEDIAPOLIS, Iowa — A five-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday for the Westminster Blue Jays in a 1-0 defeat against the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

Francisco Javier Saldana scored the lone goal just 1:32 into the game.

Chase Vogt was in goal for the Blue Jays, making a save in the 62nd minute.

Westminster (5-2-1, 4-2-1 SLIAC) had its chances against Iowa Wesleyan goalie Vicent Sanchis, who made nine saves.

The Tigers improved to 4-1-2 on the season with the victory.

Westminster will host Eureka for a SLIAC contest at 3 p.m. Saturday at Blue Jay Field.
