An American Midwest Conference Tournament semifinal match awaits the William Woods Owls after they defeated the No. 7 seed Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans 25-17, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17 on Tuesday at Anderson Arena.

Sierra Erke led the Owls in kills (13) and digs (13), including a kill that started a 4-0 spurt to give William Woods a 21-14 lead in the fourth set.

Emily Houser recorded all 28 of William Woods' assists, and Myrnaliz Perez finished with six kills and 12 digs.

Hannibal-LaGrange led the first set 6-5 following an Allison Murphy kill.

Kate Doerhoff answered with back-to-back kills to start a 14-0 run.

William Woods never trailed in the second set, getting two aces from Amber Glazebrook as part of a 4-0 start.

The Trojans closed the third set on a 7-3 run.

William Woods (12-2), the No. 2 seed, will host No. 3 seed Columbia College at 7 p.m. Thursday.
