QUINCY, Ill. - The ninth-ranked Owls prevailed in four of the six singles matches in turning back the NCAA Division II Hawks to raise their season record to 2-0 on Friday.

No. 1 doubles: senior Aaron Westerlund/junior Nathan Cooke (WWU) defeated Brenden Everhart/Luca Cantale (QU), 6-0; No. 2: senior Sam Bird/sophomore Patrick Shelepov (WWU) def. Erik Weiler/Kevin Nathan (QU), 6-3; No. 3: junior Jack Campbell/senior Jesus Amezcua (WWU) def. Samuele Contestabile/Dane Mechali (QU), 6-2.

No. 1 singles: Westerlund (WWU) def. Weiler (QU), 7-5, 6-4; No. 2: Shelepov (WWU) def. Nathan (QU), 6-2, 6-1; No. 3: Cantale (QU) def. Cooke (WWU), 7-5, 6-2; No. 4: Amezcua (WWU) def. William Woods University begins its spring break trip today with a match at No. 10 Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Owls then play No. 21 Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Monday in Macon, Ga.
