College women's basketball: William Woods 77, Williams Baptist (Ark.) 54

Senior guard Peyton Greenlee delivered a game-high 21 points and the Lady Owls extended their AMC winning streak to four games with a romp over the Lady Eagles on Saturday at Anderson Arena.

William Woods University (12-4, 7-4 American Midwest Conference) owned a slim 14-10 lead after one quarter. Williams Baptist University tied the game at 16-all early in the second quarter, but the Lady Owls erupted behind a 22-6 run to establish control.

Senior guard Kaycee Gerald's steal and layup put William Woods on top 38-22 with 21 seconds to play in the first half. The Lady Owls went into the break with a 38-28 advantage and then turned the contest into a runaway by outscoring the Lady Eagles 22-8 in the third quarter to make it 60-36.

Gerald and sophomore guard Rylie Cox provided 18 points apiece as William Woods shot 45 percent (29-of-65) from the field.

Gerald rounded out a double-double by collecting a game-high 12 rebounds to power the Lady Owls to a 45-34 advantage on the boards.

Tia Brazell topped Williams Baptist (10-5, 6-4) with 15 points and Taylor Freeman chipped in with 10. The Lady Eagles shot just 32 percent (19-of-59) as a team and committed 21 turnovers.

William Woods goes to Columbia for an AMC matchup against Stephens College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
