Men's track and field: Ogden, William Woods come in second at AMC meet

ELSAH, Ill. - Junior Schuyler Ogden prevailed in the 5,000-meter run in 15:43.27 seconds as the William Woods Owls took second place Saturday at the American Midwest Conference indoor championships.

Junior Nathaniel Ogden followed in second place in the 5,000 in 15:44.14 as William Woods compiled 132 points.

Freshman Quentin Webert came in second in the weight throw at 14.93 meters in being named the AMC newcomer of the year. Junior Hunter Carpenter was second in the 800-meter run in 2:01.05.

Junior Ben Farrell finished second in the 1,000-meter run for the Owls in 2:43.45, while senior Brandon Evans took second in the long jump at 6.61. Senior Damian Miller placed third in the pole vault at 4.05.

William Woods' distance medley relay of junior Tyler Bossing, sophomore Zachary Knopf, Carpenter and senior Charlie Schattgen came in third in 11:34.65. Schattgen is a New Bloomfield graduate.
