College volleyball: William Woods advances to AMC volleyball semis

The No. 4 seed William Woods University Lady Owls rallied for a 25-19, 20-25, 17-25, 25-23 and 15-12 win over No. 5 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University in the quarterfinals of the AMC postseason volleyball tournament Tuesday night at Anderson Arena.

William Woods (19-18) - which has won three matches in a row - advances to a clash at No. 1 seed Park University in the American Midwest Conference semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday. Park (26-3) moved on with a 25-18, 25-11 and 25-15 quarterfinal sweep of No. 8 seed Lindenwood University-Belleville (Ill.) on Tuesday night.

Park swept the Lady Owls 25-21, 25-18 and 25-16 on Oct. 30 in Fulton.

Junior opposite Kate Doerhoff topped William Woods with 17 kills in Tuesday night's victory over Freed-Hardeman. Sophomore middle blocker Hannah Kuehl chipped in with 16 kills and senior libero Kayton Coffee produced 16 digs.

Junior setter Remie Johnson posted a double-double with 43 assists and 10 digs.
