Women's Basketball: Millikin (Ill.) 68, Westminster 52

The host Westminster Lady Blue Jays shot a feeble 32 percent (22-of-69) and committed 20 turnovers in suffering a 68-52 loss to the Millikin (Ill.) Big Blue on Saturday in the Tip Off Tournament.

Westminster (1-1) was only down 29-25 at halftime, but Millikin (2-0) took control by outscoring the Lady Blue Jays 39-27 in the second half.

Sophomore guard Jackie Arnold was the only player to make it into double figures for Westminster, coming off the bench to score 16 points. Sophomore guard Reece Arnold was next with nine points and junior guard Kallee Dowler added eight.

Senior forward Mikalyn Callahan pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, but the Lady Blue Jays were outrebounded 47-32.

Jordan Hildebrand - who made 8-of-13 shots - answered with a game-high 19 points for Millikin, which shot 42 percent (26-of-62) as a team and overcame 22 turnovers. Abby Ratsch chipped in with 11 points.

Westminster plays an exhibition at NCAA Division II Missouri S&T at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rolla.
