College women's soccer: William Woods 3, Harris-Stowe 2

Senior forward Taylor LePage delivered two goals and an assist as the No. 2 seed Lady Owls edged the No. 7 Lady Hornets in the quarterfinals of the AMC postseason tournament Friday night at Firley Field.

The victory was the 10th in a row for William Woods University (12-7), which will remain at home for a clash with No. 3 seed Missouri Baptist University (10-8-1) in the American Midwest Conference semifinals at 1 p.m. Monday.

Missouri Baptist advanced with a 1-0 victory over No. 6 seed Lindenwood University-Belleville (Ill.) in quarterfinal play Friday. William Woods was shut out by Missouri Baptist 3-0 on Sept. 21 in St. Louis.

Senior midfielder Alexis Willingham gave the Lady Owls the lead over Harris-Stowe State University on Friday night when she scored in the 14th minute off an assist from LePage. William Woods then made it 2-0 on LePage's unassisted goal in the 22nd minute.

LePage extended the Lady Owls' lead when she scored again in the 36th minute off a shared assist by sophomore forward McKenzie Gourley and freshman defender Chloe Overkamp.

The Lady Hornets (10-7-1) logged their goals in the 50th and 78th minutes.

William Woods outshot Harris-Stowe by a commanding 28-11 margin, including an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. The Lady Owls also finished with a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.

In Monday's other AMC semifinal, No. 1 seed Columbia College (16-3) hosts No. 4 Park University (10-6).
