College cross country: William Woods men qualify for NAIA cross country championships

ELSAH, Ill. - The No. 22 William Woods University men's cross country team secured an automatic bid to the NAIA national championships after earning a share of the American Midwest Conference title Friday.

William Woods and Columbia College finished in a tie for the AMC title with 42 points apiece. Both schools advanced to the 64th-annual NAIA national championships Nov. 22 in Vancouver, Wash.

Junior Schuyler Ogden guided the Owls on Friday by taking fourth in 26 minutes, 16.99 seconds. He was followed in fifth place by his twin brother, junior Nathaniel Ogden in 26:17.22.

Junior Ben Farrell was next in seventh in 26:34.44 for William Woods, while junior Cole Koch came in 10th in 27:02.66. Junior Hunter Carpenter was 16th in 27:36.81.

Schuyler and Nathaniel Ogden, Farrell and Koch were named to the all-AMC team.
