The William Woods Owls were outshot 21-16, including 11-7 in shots on goal, in ending the regular season with a 6-0 American Midwest Conference loss to the Lyon (Ark.) Scots on Saturday at Firley Field.
William Woods (6-12, 4-7 AMC) had an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks. Lyon completed the regular season at 13-4-1 overall and 9-1-1 in the AMC.
The Owls are the No. 7 seed in the AMC postseason tournament and travel to No. 2 Columbia College for a quarterfinal matchup at 2 p.m. Saturday. William Woods lost to Columbia College 1-0 on Sept. 25 in Fulton.
