An art exhibit featuring printed works with layered text, color and pattern is coming to William Woods University.

"Intervals, Assemblages, Accumulations," featuring the work of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, artist Nick Satinover, will run on the WWU campus for a period of four weeks beginning Monday at the Mildred Cox Gallery. Admission to the Cox Gallery is free.

"My primary concern when creating visual works, writing and sound focuses mainly on the convolution of intrinsic, physical and psychological experiences of space and place," Satinover said.

Trained as a printmaker, Satinover creates densely layered prints and installations that utilize formal and visual strategies to make analogies to impressions made in different places.

"Through intervals, dichotomies of materials and visual languages, my hope is to reveal a series of ambivalent statements that reflect the complexity of being: past and present, internal and external, evocative and open, critical yet non-judgmental, personal and universal," he said.

Satinover has exhibited in juried, group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally in his career. His studio research in color lithography generates numerous invitations annually to lecture and demonstrate at universities and conferences in the United States. He currently serves as an associate professor of Print Media at Middle Tennessee State University.

"Intervals, Assemblages, Accumulations" will be on display at the Cox Gallery in the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts on the William Woods campus from Monday until Dec. 10, with an artist demonstration at 3:30 p.m. and opening reception from 4-6 p.m. Thursday.

Cox Gallery is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
