Tractor pull competitions like this event in 2007 will be featured on Tuesday and Wednesday nights this year at the Kingdom of Callaway County Fair.

Major attractions at the Kingdom of Callaway County Fair, which runs Aug. 1 through Aug. 6, include truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, mud race, and a rodeo.

Fair President Billy Spencer said some events return this year, including a rodeo, horse show, draft horse pulls, and mini tractor pulls.

Events kick off Tuesday night, Aug. 2, with local classes of trucks and tractors battling for pulling prizes. Trucks and tractors pull a weighted sled that slides backward during the competition. Trucks and tractors pull until the weighted sled stops forward movement. The truck or tractor that pulls the farthest in each class wins.
