FERRELVIEW, Mo. (AP) - A state panel has found that a Kansas City area police chief wrote false information on citations and should be disciplined.
The Kansas City Star reports that Daniel Clayton says he isn't concerned and plans to continue serving as chief of the Village Ferrelview. The Missouri Department of Public Safety hasn't yet acted on the Administrative Hearing Commission's recommendation.
At issue are two citations that Clayton left at the door of a woman who was a passenger in a car he stopped in January 2016.
The citations - one for failing to obey a lawful order and the other for resisting arrest - said the woman refused to sign the paperwork. The commission found that the woman was never afforded the chance to sign the paperwork and that Clayton backdated the citations to nine days earlier.
