This year's Callaway County Chamber of Commerce's Town and Country Dinner will be 5-7 p.m. Oct. 7 at Twillman Feed, 3789 State Road JJ, Kindgom City.

This event has been going on for more than 30 years and is designed to increase the awareness and interaction between two of Callaway County's most prominent employment sectors, business and agriculture.

"The reason they started Town and Country," executive director Tamara Tateosian said. "Was to bring the agricultural community and the business community together for one night for dinner and networking. It's just a great opportunity for those two groups, because they don't a lot of times intermingle often unless they provide a direct services to the agricultural or they need services from that business."

Each year, the Chamber of Commerce selects a location in town or a business that supports agriculture to host the event.

"This year, we are holding it a Twillman Feed," Tateosian said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for them because not only as a host are you getting people there, but you also have the opportunity to showcase your business, so this is kind of a huge business spotlight for Twillman Feed."

The Cattleman's Association will be cooking for Twillman Feed. They are planning on some grilled steaks, baked potatoes, a sweet potato bar, green beans, homemade rolls and some fried pies.

The Chamber will be giving out three awards at the dinner: a Host Award, a Legacy Farmers Award and a Business Award to a business that supports agriculture.

"We have a lot of success with this event," Tateosian said. "Because we get to see our farmers from Callaway County, we get to see the business community, and it's just a lot more relaxed than our annual banquet is. So it's kind of a fun little thing, we have a meal together and a lot of networking."

Sponsorships are still available, and tickets are $30 each. Guests do not have to be a member of the Chamber to participate in the event.
