Callaway Community Hospital Auxiliary scholarship recipients

Callaway Community Hospital Auxiliary presents their 2021 scholarship recipents:

DeLaney Horstman: DeLaney is the daughter of Kara and John Shumate, of Mokane, and is a 2021 graduate of South Callaway High School. She maintained an excellent academic record throughout her high school years. Horstman also participated in sports and numerous other activities outside the classroom, as well as working a part-time job. Horstman is attending Columbia College, where she plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Kayanna Gaines: Kayanna, daughter of Kevin and Sara Gaines, is a 2021 graduate of Fulton High School, where she maintained an excellent academic record. Gaines was a three-season sport athlete, as well as participating and holding leadership roles in her class and student organizations. She was also an active school and community volunteer. Gaines is attending Missouri Southern State University in the fall 2021 class to major in Nursing, with a goal to become a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.

Makenna Allen: Makenna is the daughter of Rod and Melanie Allen, and is a 2021 graduate of North Callaway High School. In high school, she maintained strong academic performance while being very active in student organizations and sports. Allen's references described her as having demonstrated leadership as a member of the senior class, as well as being a peer to look up to with her fellow underclassmen. She is attending Moberly Area Community College in the nursing program, with a goal to become an obstetrics nurse.

MaKayla Wolfmeier: The daughter of Jason and Marci Watson, Wolfmeier graduated with the class of 2021 from New Bloomfield High School, where she excelled academically. During high school, she successfully completed many dual credit courses, and enters college as a sophomore in the fall of 2021. Wolfmeier was also involved as a participant and leader in many extracurricular activities, and served as a role model for others to follow. She is attending Columbia College where she plans to complete a Registered Nurse degree, with a goal to become a pediatric nurse.

Kara Beckett: Beckett is the daughter of Kendall and Anna Beckett, and graduated from New Bloomfield High School in 2021 with an outstanding academic record. Throughout her high school years, Beckett was an active member of several school-based organizations as a participant and leader, as well as participating in sports, band, and completing numerous hours as a volunteer in her community. She is attending Central Methodist University, pursuing a dual major in Biology and Chemistry with the ultimate goal of becoming a physician.
