Fulton board to discuss meal pricing

The Fulton School District 58 Board of Education will discuss approval of meal pricing for the 2021-2022 school year at tonight's meeting.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Fulton High School Library/Media Center.

For student first meals operating seamless summer option (SSO), there is no cost for breakfast or lunch. For student additional meals, it's $1.95 for breakfast and $3.05 for lunch. And adult meals are $2.35 for breakfast and $3.85 for lunch.

In other action, the board:

Will be asked to approve approve the bid with Truescape for Fulton High School baseball field renovations in the amount of $16,450.

Will be asked to review and approve the bid for the outdoor walk-in freezer from Ford Hotel Supply in the amount of $32,555 as well as a bid from Teel Mechanical Service in the amount of $60,000.

Will be recommended by the Policy Committee recommends the Board adopt the Missouri School Boards' Association 2021A Policies.

Board members will be given information on COVID-19 leave. The paid leave under the FFCRA (Families First Coronavirus Response Act) has expired. If a district employee tests positive or is quarantined, they have to utilize their accrued sick leave. The board would need to take action to grant any paid leave to employees because of COVID-19 outside of what policy currently awards.

Afterwards, Lauren Jacobs will provide an update from the first two weeks of school in regards to COVID.

In district reports Wednesday night, Superintendent Dr. Ty Crain will talk about the fiscal year 22 budget, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Chris Hubbach will give a curriculum update and a facilities committee chair will update the board on progress related to the 2020 bond issue.

The board will also be presented with information from the Director of Food Service, Amy Lee, who will provide a yearly report on Food Service, and data and final reporting for the 2020-2021 Food Service program. And then from Sarah Manley, Coordinator of School and Community Programs, will present information on the development of a new Hornet logo.
