New Bloomfield Board of Education to hear from Professional Development Chair

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The New Bloomfield R-3 School District Board of Education will hear from Professional Development Chair Lauren Sweeten about the district's professional development plan at 6 p.m. today during its October meeting in the district boardroom.

The board will look to approved:

  • The purchase of new bleachers for the high school from Heartland Seating for $122,120 and the removal of the existing bleachers for $11, 530.
  • The Memorandum of Understanding agreement with OASIS Tutoring as presented.
  • The board candidate signing date of Dec. 7, 2021, through Dec. 28, 2021. There are two positions open for the board in April 2022. The two board members up for re-election are Tod Schattgen and Stacey Allen.
  • Task Order number 4 from Navigate Building Solutions pertaining to playground replacement for the K-5 and Pre-K equipment.
  • Task Order Number 5 from Navigate Building Solutions pertaining to baseball field ADA parking spots, sidewalks and fencing.
  • Task Order Number 6 from Navigate Building Solutions pertaining to Elementary School gym floor replacement.
  • The establishment of a citizen's advisory committee for the agricultural education program.

 

Board members will also look to appoint Faith Baxter as the board secretary as well as rescind and adopt, effective Oct. 21, 2021, policy number G-235-P as presented.

Nurse Kristin Baker will present a report on the health services program, their goals, objectives, changes that have been made and how the district has benefited from the program. Director of Nutritional Services Alicia Wise will also present a report on the monthly food services for the district.

New Bloomfield Middle and High School Principal Paul Cloudwright will give the board a monthly report on enrollment, attendance, professional development, and news and recognition.

Elementary Principal Jennifer Fletcher and Superintendent Sarah Wisdom will speak to the board about monthly finances, the district's budget, Partners in Education, the facilities, Pathways for Para, Monday Academy and COVID-19.

Under old business tonight, board members will look at the COVID-19 plan specifically for athletics during a yellow phase, indoor sports spectator limitations and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's "When to Quarantine After Exposure to a Case of COVID-19" chart.
