A 22-year-old St. Louis man was seriously injured in a one-car wreck on I-70 in Callaway County on Monday morning, according to a crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 10:25 a.m. near mile marker 163 on I-70, according to the report. Zaymon N. Harris was westbound in a 2009 Honda Fit when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side off the roadway, crossed the separator and struck the ground before crossing Old U.S. 40.
Harris' vehicle then traveled off the north side of the highway and struck an embankment before coming to a rest.
He was taken by Callaway County emergency medical services to University Hospital in Columbia.
Harris was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and his vehicle was totaled.
