New Bloomfield board to discuss 2021-22 budget

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The New Bloomfield R-3 School District Board of Education will consider a recommendation to approve the 2021-22 budget during its June meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the district boardroom.

Board members will also take action on the district's certified and classified salary schedules, as well as the safe return to in-person instruction continuity of service plan.

For the return plan, three phases have been set - green, yellow and red. Green has all students in school, yellow has elementary on campus using both buildings - while middle school and high school are virtual - and red is all students learning virtually.

Safety protocols will be put in place to help maintain social distancing, masks will still be recommended during passing periods and on buses, and temperature checks will be required upon entering district buildings.

Under old business Thursday night, the board will hear about the district's COVID-19 plan, which will include updates on cases in the district, community usage of the buildings and extracurricular activities and spectator restrictions.

Board members will also be given summer project updates on the concessions building and the paving and roofing projects.
