Probation ordered in 2019 robbery case

A Fulton woman has pleaded guilty to an amended charge in 2019 robbery in Jefferson City.

Brittany Watson, 26, pleaded guilty during a hearing before Cole County Judge Cotton Walker to one count of felony stealing.

Prosecutors amended the charge from second-degree robbery.

She was placed on five years of supervised probation.

Authorities said Watson stole a glass pipe from a store in the 1900 block of Missouri Boulevard. The pipe was displayed "in a closed display case," according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

The store's owner reported seeing Watson put the device in her purse. When the owner told her to stay in the store until police came, the owner later told police, Watson "pulled an electronic stun gun device from her purse and used it on the victim, causing physical injury."
