Engineer Justin Malone, left, was named Fulton Professional Firefighters Local 2945's Firefighter of the Year for 2020.
Malone started with the Fulton Fire Department in 2015 and became an engineer in 2017. In 2018, he was named vice president of Local 2945. In that role, he spearheaded a mental health initiative for his fellow firefighters. He's now president of L2945 and continues his work on the mental health initiative.
The Firefighter of the Year Award recipient is selected based on a nomination and evaluation process involving current members of the Fulton Professional Firefighters union.
