The New Bloomfield Board of Education will hear about safety, maintenance projects and board norms during its February meeting.
The board plans to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the district's central office meeting room.
Superintendent Sarah Wisdom will bring up summer roofing and asphalt projects, as well as a project to add a new concession stand building.
In past months, the concession stand has been mentioned as a project that could be delayed depending on the budget and the financial impact of COVID-19.
In her monthly report to the board, Wisdom indicated she is positive about the projects.
If approved by the board, the district will work with construction manager advisor Navigate Building Solutions on both projects.
In addition to regular reports from district administrators, school resource officer Nick Jensen will present a written and verbal report on school safety.
Over the past year, the district has conducted safety training and added several security cameras.
This year, safety goals include adding proximity doors, upgrading some cameras, maintaining current safety and security equipment, and training new staff.
The board will also consider a food service bid with OPAA Food Management, a school resource officer agreement with the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and an extended agreement with Wildcat Care.
Also on the agenda is a discussion of board norms and communications, which was the subject of a Feb. 2 work session with the Educational Governance & Leadership Association.
According to a list of board goals, the board will develop an orientation and mentor program for new members, in addition to a self-evaluation and professional development plan. Other board goals center on professional norms, work sessions and ensuring decisions are in alignment with the district comprehensive school improvement plan.
