Bracing the bitter cold, the Callaway Chamber of Commerce and Callaway County Hospital ventured out into the community Friday to deliver flowers and sweet treats to nursing home and assisted living residents.

Chamber marketing and special event coordinator Justis Smith and Andrea Bedrosian, of Callaway Community Hospital, stopped by Ashbury Heights, Bristol Manor, Churchill Terrace, Kingdom Care, Valley Park North, Fulton Nursing and Rehab, and Fulton Manor. Extra flowers were delivered to the Fulton Police Department.

"We understand how little interaction seniors have received with facilities having limited access for visitors this past year and we want to send them a little cheer and help brighten their day," Chamber Executive Director Tamara Tateosian said.

The Valentine's Day effort grew out of the Chamber's Lovin' Local campaign, which has featured giveaways from local businesses.

The Callaway Bank also delivered flowers to nurses and caregivers working on the frontlines of the pandemic.
