Man arrested after Casey's General Store robbery

A Fulton man is in custody following a reported armed robbery Saturday at Casey's General Store.

Kyle Dennis Newton, 33, is being held on charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

At 10:15 p.m., the Fulton Police Department was notified of an armed robbery at the 1301 S. Business 54 Casey's location. Officers were told a man - later identified as Newton - entered the store while displaying a knife, took multiple items, lunged toward employees and left the store.

With assistance from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, FPD officers soon located and arrested Newton on multiple felony charges. According to the arrest report, Newton was taken to the Callaway County Jail.
