Missouri Girls Town will hold an online auction.

Missouri Girls Town will be hosting a month-long online auction starting Sept. 12.

Ahead of the auction, Girls Town is looking for donated items.

Missouri Girls Town provides care for abused and neglected girls ages 8-21. By the time clients come to Girls Town, many have been through nine failed placements including foster care, other residential centers, hospitalization, relatives or failed adoptions and are in need of a structured living environment.

The organization relies on fundraisers each year - this spring and summer, several fundraisers were already canceled due to COVID-19.

Donation suggestions include themed baskets, electronics, tickets, sports memorabilia and baked goods.

There will also be a virtual open house Oct. 3.

The online auction will run through Oct. 17, when it will end with the organization's only in-person event in months.

The last day of the auction, the group will hold a cornhole tournament. Funds raised will help improve campus safety and energy efficiency in residential housing.

Participation in the tournament costs $50 for a team of two until Oct. 1. At that point, it will be $60 a team. Hole sponsorships are $100.

The tournament will begin at 11 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Fulton VFW.
