Callaway County reports 4th COVID-19 death

The Callaway County Health Department reported the county's fourth death attributed to COVID-19 on Wednesday.

As with previous deaths in the county, the CCHD did not release any additional information about the deceased.

"It is with a heavy heart that Callaway County Health Department announces the Callaway Community has suffered another death due to COVID 19," a representative of the CCHD wrote in an update on CallawayCOVID19.com. "This now gives us a total of four deaths from within our community. Please keep the family and friends of this individual in your thoughts and prayers."

This is the county's first COVID-19-related death in nearly a month; the most recent previous death occurred Sept. 9.

According to the health department, 20 additional Callaway County residents have tested for the disease since Tuesday, bringing the county's total cases since the pandemic began to 770. Of those, 124 cases were active Wednesday, while 642 individuals had recovered.
