This column serves as a spotlight, highlighting the everyday people in Callaway County. The Fulton Sun takes a moment with someone who is not usually featured in the news but is just as instrumental in making our community the strong and beautiful place we all know and love.

William Pursifull and his family settled in Steedman over a year ago. Before moving to Callaway County, Pursifull lived in several other Missouri communities. Pursifull served in the military and now works at the Callaway Energy Center. Pursifull enjoys fishing with his daughter.

Q: What was your first job?

Army. I graduated and went in straight out of high school.

Q: Who inspires you most?

My daughter. Nothing slows her down - she's not a fan of people saying no.

Q: What is something you are proud of?

I'm proud of serving my country. I'm proud of being a dad.

Q: What in your life has been the most fulfilling?

Being in the military. You grow up quick and learn how to handle whatever comes at you, even if it's just day-to-day stuff.

Q: If you could do any job what would it be?

Any job in the world? I guess I'd probably have my own outdoor channel - my own fishing channel. I'd get paid to go fishing instead of trying to find the time to go.

Q: What job would you not want to do?

Fast food drive-thru.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Callaway County?

I guess the people. If you wave, they wave back.
