UPDATE: 2 people caught after vehicle strikes Fulton officer

UPDATE: The two people being sought in connection with a vehicle chase Monday evening have been located and taken into custody. Callaway County deputies arrested both suspects in the 3900 block of Route F, according to a statement at 7:05 a.m. from Fulton police.

The police officer who was injured in the incident has since been released from the hospital.

Two people are being sought after a vehicle chase Monday evening in Callaway County where a Fulton police officer was reportedly struck by the vehicle.

According to reports from the Callaway County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 5: 19 p.m., the Fulton Police Department became involved in a vehicle pursuit near the U.S. 54 and Route F interchange in Fulton. The pursuit traveled from Route F, to Route KK, down County Road 207, back to Route F, over to Route RA, then to County Road 228, onto County Road 257 and finally onto County Road 230.

On County Road 230, west of Route HH, the suspect vehicle stopped. Two Fulton police officers attempted to detain the occupants of the vehicle, but the driver reportedly drove the vehicle at and struck one of the Fulton officers. As this was happening, two Fulton police officers fired their weapons at the suspect vehicle which fled the scene.

The officer that was struck by the suspect vehicle was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition on Monday night.

The suspect vehicle was found abandoned on Route KK. Members of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, Missouri Highway Patrol, and the Fulton Police Department searched for the occupants of the vehicle along Route F, Route KK and along nearby roadways and properties.

The suspects were described as a white male with a goatee, dressed in a white shirt, and a white female. The vehicle the two were traveling in was reported stolen out of Nebraska.
