Callaway accident injures two Mexico teens

 

Two Mexico teenagers were injured in a one-car accident Wednesday in Callaway County.

According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, the two 16-year-old males were traveling in a 1999 Mercury Cougar when the accident occurred around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on Route N, a quarter-mile south of County Road 1044.

The southbound vehicle traveled off the left side of the highway, over-corrected and then ran off the right side, struck an embankment and overturned.

The driver received minor injuries and was taken to Boone Hospital in Columbia. The passenger also sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the accident.

Both occupants were wearing their seat belts. The vehicle was totaled.
