Ameren granted approval to waive late payments, reconnections fees

Ameren Missouri's request to forego collection of fees for late payments and reconnections to help customers dealing with financial hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic has been approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Ameren Missouri stated it was seeking the variance to ease some of the financial burdens on its customers that reductions in hours worked, job and shift losses, sick leave, and other impacts of the public health emergency may cause.

Ameren Missouri requested the variance be effective until it becomes evident the COVID-19 outbreak is waning. Ameren Missouri stated it will provide at least a 15-day notice to affected customers before these fees are reinstated.
