Driver hurt in car vs. deer collision

A Buffalo woman was hurt Monday morning in a Callaway County accident.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Mona L. James, 69, was driving northbound on U.S. 63 one-quarter mile north of County Road 395 at 9:40 a.m. when a deer ran into her vehicle, striking the windshield and causing it to shatter.

James, who was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken by private vehicle to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City for treatment of minor injuries, the patrol said.
