A 24-year-old Holts Summit man received serious injuries Monday during a jet ski crash at Lake of the Ozarks.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol’s Troop F, Charles Phelps was hurt when his 1998 Arctic Jet Ski collided with a 1992 Wellcraft Runabout driven by Tyler Crocker, 25, also of Holts Summit.
The two were operating their crafts in “a careless and imprudent manner” in the Downing Branch Cove area of the lake around 5:30 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol. Phelps’ craft traveled into the path of Crocker’s, and the two collided.
The crash report said Phelps, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash, was airlifted to the University of Missouri Hospital. Crocker, who was not wearing a safety device, was uninjured.
