Fulton resident Kevin Jones was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing a trailer.

Jones, 33, was charged Thursday with multiple felonies including burglary, stealing and property damage. He is being held without bond at Callaway County Jail. Jones was also charged for his involvement in an October burglary and theft.

The white 2007 Stealth Utility box trailer had a side decal reading "L&S Renovation & Property Management LLC," according to a probable cause statement.

The trailer, which contained construction tools at the time of the theft, was reported stolen last Sunday morning. Holts Summit Police Department officer Chelsea Gibbs saw a trailer matching the description of the stolen property at 9:17 a.m. being pulled by a truck containing three individuals traveling northbound on Route AA. Gibbs was traveling southbound at the time and was unable to catch the vehicle after turning around.

HSPD found items identified as having been in the stolen trailer at a residence on the 800 block of Vine Street in Fulton and arrested two men in connection with the theft last Sunday. The individuals' names have not yet been released. At Vine Street, an individual in the residence told police Jones was the driver of the truck seen pulling the trailer, according to the statement.

Callaway County deputies on Wednesday received new information about the location of the still-missing trailer. An aerial drone search revealed a white box trailer parked at 3861 County Road 4006. The side of the trailer where the decal was located was covered in red paint.

After obtaining a search warrant for the property, deputies recovered multiple stolen items and the trailer. The trailer had been damaged, with the back doors and an outer wall torn off.

Deputies witnessed two male subjects fleeing the scene, and after an hour-long search by the K9 unit, Jones was found hiding next to a fallen tree and was taken into custody.

Jones told officers he had planned on selling the stolen tools from inside the trailer.

According to the probable cause statement, Jones also admitted to breaking into a Dodge truck and stealing a pair of shoes while fleeing the Missouri Highway Patrol in October. Jones managed to elude authorities at that time, but his fingerprints were identified at the scene of the crime.
