The Callaway County Sheriff's Office arrested a Mexico man for drugs and failure to register as a sex offender Friday.
At 9:49 p.m., a deputy patrolling the northeast part of Callaway County stopped Samuel Tarrants, 60, for a traffic violation on Route B near County Road 1019. According to the arrest report, the investigation uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia related to the sale of drugs.
The deputy arrested Tarrants, a registered sex offender, and discovered he was not in compliance with sex offender registration requirements. Tarrants was taken to the Callaway County Jail and booked for felony delivery of a controlled substance (meth), felony failure to register as a sex offender and possession of drug paraphernalia (prior offender).
Tarrants' bond was set at $30,000.
