MOKANE - The South Callaway Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at South Callaway High School.

South Callaway is celebrating School Board Recognition Week. Before the meeting, the high school Pro-Start class will recognize and provide a meal for the board.

On the agenda for discussion is the April school board election and a facilities update. The board is set to act on the 2021 school year calendar and mileage reimbursement.

District administration is recommending the board approve increasing mileage reimbursement from $0.375 to $0.43 per mile, which is the rate used by the state. According to meeting documents this year to date, the district has paid $7,319.90 in reimbursements - less than in past years.

The meeting will also include the first read of updates and language changes that will bring the district in line with policy changes from the Missouri School Boards' Association. This agenda item, which includes a new policy relating to employee attendance issues and chronic absences, was tabled during the board's January meeting.

The board will also hear reports from district schools and programs and approve bills.
