Briant Kling is a husband and father of four who lives in Callaway County. Kling grew up in Detroit, Michigan and came to the area for work. He is an engineer who works in Mexico, Missouri.
Q: What was your first job?
I was a deliverer of newspapers in the suburbs of Detroit.
Q: Who inspires you most?
My dad. He's just a great role model. He loves people, he loves life and has great faith in God. I just had a great relationship with my dad.
Q: What is something you're proud of?
Raising a family of four kids and I've been married for 33 years.
Q: What in your life has been the most fulfilling?
Being a dad.
Q: If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
There's a lot of good jobs out there. I like a job that gives me the opportunity to teach and mentor people so that they can support themselves and be independent and proud of their work. That's what I look forward to in a job. Naturally, I'm a problem-solver, so a technical, problem-solving job.
Q: What about a job you wouldn't want to do?
I wouldn't want a job where you didn't feel like you had any value to the company or the product. Something where you couldn't see progress or see your contribution - anything that feels like a waste of time.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Callaway County?
I like the small town, rural atmosphere, especially after growing up in the suburbs of a major city. I like the freedom of having your own space. Callaway County is still fairly friendly through the battles of politics and life.
