Ameren seeks adjustment to electric bills

Ameren Missouri has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to adjust the Energy Efficiency Investment Charge that appears on the monthly bills of its electric customers.

For a typical residential customer, the EEIC will increase from approximately $4.03 a month to approximately $5.65 a month, effective Feb. 1.

According to Ameren's application, the proposed adjustment reflects the actual and forecasted costs of the company's approved energy efficiency programs.

The Energy Efficiency Investment Charge is a charge that encourages utility companies to implement energy-efficiency programs.
